Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) is a breakthrough technology which provides fast, long range identification and analysis of virtually any material in virtually any environment.
With a typical measurement time of milliseconds, the system provides elemental composition analysis of materials, typically in the parts per million range. The system can be used to perform scans or surveys and to automatically identify materials or elements of interest. LIBS is a very versatile technique and it is capable of measurements which are extremely difficult or impossible to achieve by other methods in the field and in near real time (for example beryllium detection, explosives / explosives residue detection). The LIBS unit can operate in line of sight over tens of meters, or in close proximity via a fiber-optic umbilical for restricted access areas or internal inspection of containers, equipment, etc.
LIBS deployment is also very versatile, for example it can be used to analyze materials through radiation shielding windows, underwater and in gas or liquid streams.
The LIBS technique and equipment is unaffected by high background radiation environments and with our propriety deployment technology, it can be used in virtually any hazardous environment.
We have over 10 years of LIBS deployment experience in the nuclear, chemical and other hazardous industry applications.
You can now buy a complete fully integrated Long Range LIBS System for research, development or field deployment from Ameasol.
